    Shed floor rotted

Probably easy enough to cut the wire inside the shed near where it enters the shed, Jack it up, install the 4 x 6s and then install a junction box inside the shed where a reconnection could be made. My Harbor Freight floor Jack has been known to lift more things than cars.

    Shed floor rotted

I would be tempted to jack it up and slide some pressure treated 4 x 6s under it.

Windows in Overhead Door, Yes or No?

I agree with this. And I also think that a door with windows looks better from the outside.

    Car condo owners, in here

Interesting website information. But unless I had a unit with a garage door on each end and/or a lot of windows I would Not want to be inside one of those units.

    Car condo owners, in here

You are going to want to carefully read the rules and covenants. Consider worse case scenarios. What happens if there is a big dispute between the owners about future maintenance, payment of dues etc??What happens if the developer goes belly up with only half the units built? What happens if...

Stanley is stopping making tape measures in the USA.

I agree with that. But the consumer votes with his pocketbook. If he wants to buy American he can.

Stanley is stopping making tape measures in the USA.

I have to respectfully disagree on this one. It seems to me that the dedicated tool store has become much more visible in the last 20 years. Acme Tool is a good example. Formerly stores like these tended to be located in industrial areas of town and would not open on Saturdays. Now they are...

Unions are free to go on strike. That is one reason factories close and jobs go overseas.

    New Icon Wire Stripper/Cutter/Crimper

I am not at all interested if it does not have a spring which automatically opens the “business end” of the strippers when the handle is released.

I seem to be at a point where I don't need any new tools for the first time I can recall.

Since when did you start limiting your tool purchases to what you needed? All In favor of voting OP off the island say aye.

THHN double the price of Romex?

I agree with you. I found it very strange that the US and Ontario could have two directly opposite views on this.

THHN double the price of Romex?

When we wired our Ontario boathouse our electrician did not put a grounding rod by the subpanel that was installed in it. Apparently detached structures with theIr own sub panels could not have separate grounding rods. Instead the grounds for the separate structures have to go back to the main...

Successful strategy for selling father’s lifetime of tools

No one answer. You want the most money? You want the least work possible? You want things done as quickly as possible? What is the most common method in your area? Different priorities, Different methods. Personally I would hire someone to do the ”open to the public estate sale with the...

    Why do electricians leave

Wasted wire? On the scale of things to complain about in house construction that one doesn’t rank very high in my book. Relax.
