Sawstop Base Jack

Yesterday I had to replace the hydraulic jack in my Sawstop table saw’s industrial mobile base. It’s a pain in the rear sort of job for one person and involves a big *** pry bar. Fortunately my neighbor wandered by looking for his afternoon beer and helped.

I am a bit miffed that the jack in an expensive Sawstop base would not hold oil. My Harbor Freight floor jack manages to do so.

U cup or o ring (?). Either can cause a hydraulic leak. If you could source a replacement you might be back on the road.

If the saw still saves fingers, a jack is pretty minor in my book.

Agreed. But in my view a high end mobile base should do better. It’s like the steering wheel not working on an Audi.

That problem is usually the loose nut behind the wheel

Hydraulic jacks IME, fall into two categories, one that you use and abuse for years and they just don’t die and others that fail sometimes while still in the box.
