That vent would be just what I am looking for! does it come with that particular vent or did you get it somewhere else?
Those Rinni units would work pretty good, but wow are they pricey:eyecrazy:
The ventless option is something interesting to me too, as long as I keep the dehumidifier...
Hello Everyone, Im coming up on my 2nd winter in my new garage shop. Its 28X34 with 10 foot ceilings. All insulated and drywalled. I would really like to install some heat in it this year. Last year I just ran a propane torpedo heater, and it worked ok for some days, but it was labor...
The 20A plugs are 220V, I've got various 220v machines that will be in the shop (lathes, mill, drills, grinders, etc) and I don't want to be too far from am outlet with any given machine. Plus you can always use 15A 110, so why not.
I personally hate mudding and taping drywall, I took care of all the screw holes and virtical wall seams, but left the rest. On a tip from my neighbors I took 1X4 furring strips and covered the rest of the seams. Turned out great, and saved me lots of labor.
Fast forward to Thanksgiving...
Merry Christmas everyone! Sorry for disappearing on this thread. Unfortunately I broke my last phone and along with it, lots of pictures of the build progress. But I have some, so I figured I'd give the completed update!
For the floors, I went with:
-Norkan Norklad 200 epoxy top coat...
Got the Ideal 16 x 9 commercial insulated garage door installed yesterday. It took about eight hours of work time. I felt it went pretty good or never dealing with garage doors before. The directions it came with were terrible and confusing, but I just used it as a supplement to the YouTube...
I am at the stage in my garage build where I want to epoxy the floor. It is a 950 SqFt shop with brand new concrete (a little over 2 months old). Mostly just hobby machine work and boat/motorcycle restoration. However I do have Hilo that I'll use once in a while.
I just started looking for...
Sorry for the lack of updates! But three weeks ago I hit the ground running and haven't slowed down getting the garage up. The first weekend was spent getting it all framed up. I build and stood the back three walls first, got them braced up.
Purchased a brand-new-used vintage Baker 2000lb...
I realize this now. I don't even know what I can do going forward other than hope it doesn't crack too bad.
I don't think I have a leg to stand on for withholding payment for the s*** job.
It was saw cut yesterday into 6 sections.
I'm out of time on this project and need to move...
Thais the one thing I didn't have was a signed contact, of any sort. Just our words in planning. The base is real solid, I made sure of it and we used a 4000PSI, air-entrained mix.
Well all my excitement turned to stomach turning today, the day of the garage floor pour. I get home to see they are pouring the last few square feet. And what do I see?
No vapor barrier, no rebar, no mesh, no fiber in the concrete. I talked about adding both a vapor barrier and some...
I'm down near 11 mile and Jefferson so I know all about that traffic. And if it wasn't for a good job in Dearborn, I'd love to move over to the west side. Glad you made it!
Today we had the Mason lay a course of block. Tomorrow will be prep work on the slab and hopefully it will be poured Tuesday!
Got rough openings for a 16 foot overhead door and a 36 inch man door. Got anchor bolts every 2 blocks set with mortar.
Later that week I came home to a torn up slab, the next day the first truck load of stone was delivered and spread.
From there we hit another snag, the concrete guy called me and said he was going to be another 3 weeks out  I had hoped to be done with the main structure of the...
