Metal Cabinets vintage or homemade and no name toolboxes. got any to show please do

Sure it does; it's metal, it's a cabinet for a garage/shop, and it's semi vintage. Sorensen Manufacturing has been around since the early seventies and had a factory in Glasgow, KY, and had a good reputation. Though, I'm too sure who made the cabinet. I think its time to get it off the floor...

    rust removal

Sorry for the late reply, I rarely visit here lately. For the projects I do, I've totally abandoned any use of Bristle Brush below 220. I feel that the sweet spot for this amazing type of wheel is 220 -400, and maybe the next finer grit (pink Pumice?) but depends on your wanting to finish, the...

    rust removal

Nope, I've tried. Those $0.25 pieces of plastic is the gold for 3M. Without them you have to pay the big bucks for entry for each grit. TBH, buying a new complete wheel is not that expensive after using them so much. I was at a point, that they had become my most used tool in my shop, it was...

    rust removal

I just looked, the recent prices have gone sky high but Keep searching and stay patient (if you have the time). You can find them on eBay occasionally pop up for $40 but it may take a while, and when they do they go real fast. The killer deals will always come up after you bought one : ) Just...

It's been a wee minute or two but I don't think I ever posted these pics of some of my Starrett:

    Tools of Japan

Made in Sweden Pressmaster are excellent, top shelf. I like the Felo #62681 version with adj. strip length. Wire strippers like these are more like consumables, the Felo is only $22 quickly to my door so I just replace them when they start to go. However, Pressmaster's are the very best and...

    Tools of Japan

This might sound a bit odd but I found a good way to avoid stripping screw heads is a have a solid fitting driver (like Vessel) and good amount of hand torque via a larger dia. handle. I love Vessel now a days, they're my everyday go to driver but I have found their small precision screwdrivers...

    Amazon Warehouse Deals

This can be spot on, but it changes (amazon's attitude) from time to time. A couple of months ago (in my region) Prime purchases returns had to be only through (official) UPS stores (no matter what); they didn't give other options online, you had to physically return the item to an official UPS...

    Tools of Japan

Does Japan make a worthy automatic wire stripper like the Felo style? EDIT: I just noticed the Merry’s in the above post but wondering if there’s any others?

    Tools of Japan

For the past two years I’ve been using the Felo and Knixpex automatic wire strippers almost exclusively and can happily say I’m never going back, except for the odd situation or limited space. I do now have to carry two tools because they don’t really cut but I’m totally ok with that.

    Advice on shed permit

I think we may have lost the OP? But in my neck of the woods for sheds to be exempt from building permits it's calculated by gross floor area and does not exceed 120 square feet, the height does not exceed 12 feet, and the maximum roof projection does not exceed 24 inches. Here's where it may...

    Show us your sewing projects!

Nice, I couldn't think of a better deal, sell the Adler and get to use it whenever you want to. Unless you need a sewing machine often, then why have it take up precious space when you can have someone else pay you cold hard cash to store it for you when you don't need it : )

    Show us your sewing projects!

I'm going to guess it was an Adler 67 GK? If so, they're amazing highly coveted German made machines. A true workhorse and thats not too big.

9V battery danger, yeah, it’s real

For a quickie (and safer), I use some ScotchBlue tape with date written over the contacts on mine when there's no caddy. It's good enough and sticks. Keeping them in drawers can get bad, those little puppies like to slide around every time you open and close a drawer. It doesn't take much for...

    Deck coating recommendations

+1 Oxalic acid may not be the very best cleaner but it's also a safer bet to not harm the ($$$) wood. A lot of it will depend how dirty it is, if there's mildew and how much work and scrubbing you're willing to do? Buy the Oxalic acid powder and mix it with water yourself, it's significantly...
