Prentiss Vise No. 19 teardown help!!

The lead screw is held in by what should look like a crown nut with Two of the prongs bent in. To remove you will have to drill out the bent prongs and slide it out. If the crown nut does not have any more prongs I would not do it as those are impossible to find new. Now the top pin is just...

    Champion Commandair Compressor?

I say clean it up and run it!! I have seen those pumps at work and they run really hot. Looks maybe some ring wear and maybe some oil is leaking into the cylinder but the real way to know is run it and see if you oil in the tank when you dump the water out. It's just a compressor not a race...

If its your time it's your time. Falling on a pencil or drinking too much water can kill you. Even hydrolic lifts fail from time to time. Guess you can build your own bullet proof ones, or just take it in for the oil change.

    HF regulator

Has anyone successfully used a HF regulator on a 2-stage compressor to regulate the 175psi tank pressure down to around 110psi for air tools, without any leaking issues? I have heard that these regs have trouble with the higher tank pressures of a2-stage compressor. If you have had a positive...
