What is this socket extension for?

Called a special 1/2" extension on the Stahlwille website. If you turn it strange things will happen?

Correct, if you enlarge the image the nickel and matt chrome was done over the rough forging mark. It also had a ding, done later, in the open end. I sent it back to Amazon for a refund. The Hazet 600LG-12 wrench I got today was fine and at £9.60 GBP good value. I would inspect any new Hazet...

Looks well made. I have the Knipex 250mm version but am a bit wary of Hazet's cosmetic finishing. This is my new 14mm LG wrench. Is this acceptable in Germany Monte?

Indeed, Peddinghaus also sell the Dutch pattern. I have a Picard engineers hammer and I think the fit and finish are not as good as the Gedore forge hammers I have.

When I bought a Stahlwille open box 14 set from Germany they were much cheaper than the Hazet ones. Less finishing I expect reduces cost. Mine don't have those grinding marks in the open end though.

    Why not Bosch?

Bosch corded stuff is superior quality. My older green hammer drill was made in Switzerland and in more recent times they moved production to Hungary. Plenty of blue is still made in Germany at least for European sales. My Metabo corded made in Germany. Having said that, I recently checked some...

Back in April I made a list of all the western companies still making vises. I found 19 of them excluding Japanese manufactured which are hard to get hold of in the West. In part, it was to disprove the commonly held notion that everything is made in China. That may be true for consumer...

I think the Kanka K2 it's almost identical apart from have 2 instead of 1 side bolts. Note the Y channel beam construction similar to the Heuer bellow. Heuer started this type of construction in the 1930's <a href="http://photobucket.com/" target="_blank"><img...

Kanca make a similar vise in Turkey. They make good vises and supply Hazet but their designs are derivative. I don't think Heuer like their 'clone' K2 model...
