Called a special 1/2" extension on the Stahlwille website. If you turn it strange things will happen?

"USEFUL. Stahlwille 12250001 Special Extension, offset, can be used on the Magnetic Switch Diesel Pump to have direct control of the pump."

Still have no idea how this extension would be used to do that.

The 1225 above is different than the 3505 the OP is asking about.
His is 1/2 drive not 3/8, has a pin not a ball, and is shorter at 120mm vs 150mm.
While Stahlwille designates a specific use for the 1225, there is no such mention for the 3505.

Pictured like that and seeing the intended use it paints a better picture but my left sided brain would also ask the question, couldn't you also just use an old school distributor tool?

Never underestimate the ability of a German automaker to overcomplicate even the simplest thing.
