    Vintage vise/table clamp? ID

The spring IS new. I soaked all the parts in ACV and the spring came out rust free, but all the plating was gone (if it ever WAS plated) I just took the spring to Menards and sized it up. I put the original spring back in for future use (it's lighter) and just used the new one for the photos.

And that's why I'm here....to try and figure out its purpose. Holding a drive line while you work on a u-joint isn't one of them. You brought up some ideas if never thought about such as leather, fishing reel repair....maybe you're onto something.

    Vintage vise/table clamp? ID

A friend of mine surmised it was possibly for holding small boards like 1x6's or 1x8's for cutting and trimming and such. I'm sure when I get it mounted to my bench I'll find all kinds of uses for it. It's an odd little clamp (that's what I refer to it as since you certainly couldn't replace a...

    Vintage vise/table clamp? ID

RTM- YES, it does kinda look like that.... VERY wimpy indeed. I'm sure just cranking the screw overly tight and it would collapse on itself. Still worth $5.00 to me though ....I'll use it somewhere.

    Vintage vise/table clamp? ID

I recently purchased this at an antique store for $5.00. It was pretty rusty but I have dismantled it and restored it for use in my barn. There are NO markings, plates or anything that would identify the manufacturer. I found ONE on eBay that was damaged and they also had no idea as to the...

    Vintage drill press

Ha ha....with a LOT of buffing!!

    Vintage drill press

I agree, I was also thinking the motor might have been a repurpose. It seemed kinda overkill for such a small press. I also had wondered if it might be some sort of production press.....it looks like you could drill 700 holes and hour with it. The chuck looks like it's keyless and that table is...

    Vintage drill press

I got this today from a friend. It has been in his back woods for years. He was going to scrap it, but asked if I wanted it. It looks to be a two speed, very small drill press. It has a WARDWAY motor and the only numbers I can find on the press are 711 (on the handle) and 707 on the arm of the...

    Tool Kraft drill press

Agreed, bubble gum pink...no way. I did see a drill press though that was powder coated kind of a mint green. It actually looked pretty cool (I thought anyway). I've always liked Yellow...old Yamahas, old Suzukis, yellow Mustangs or Camaros....I just grafted that like onto my press. I knew it...

    Tool Kraft drill press

Probably gonna keep it there. It's an eye sore to some, but it came that way. It's also very similar to what my dad would have done back in the day. He was always kinda utility only...who cares what it looks like. I don't know....maybe I'll take your advice at some point, but it kinda feels like...

    Tool Kraft drill press

Yeah, it came like that and already had the holes and the wire routing so I just went with it. It's easy to turn on and off though.

    Tool Kraft drill press

That I'm not sure, I'd have to check. It was trash when I got it and I had to press it apart and clean it to make it work. Seems like I saw Jacobs on the side of it, but I know for sure I have another Jacobs chuck and I could be thinking about that. It's on a tapper if that helps.

    Tool Kraft drill press

Yesterday I just finished up my Power King worm drive saw. Probably going to be some haters, but here it is. I bought this ToolKraft drill press off FBMP and decided to go a different direction. I've seen an endless stream of grey, different shades of blue, off shades of green for a drill press...
