Show me your shovel and long handled tool storage

I like that setup. Where did you find it?

    Epstein's Day, July 4, 2014

Filled in some gaps in the tool box, replaced some broken items, and got some cool freebies all while supporting a small business and US tool makers. Love dealing with these guys.

Thanks for introducing me to this. I love Myth Busters and watch to see what they do in the shop as much as anything else.

Timkens Unit Bearing Failed after 10k Thoughs?

Happens all the time, especially when we're talking GM products. I sell auto parts and I can tell you swapping defective hub bearings is a fairly common occurrence, no matter the brand name.

    Find that fitting

Weatherhead part # 452x4 I believe, somebody correct me if I'm wrong. You can get it at a well stocked NAPA among others.

    Liberty Tool

I was vacationing in New England last month and someone told me about Liberty Tool. I made a detour to go check it out and it is awesome, three floors full of tools in an old house and more in the old Mobil filling station across the road. They had tons of cool stuff I wanted to hang on the...

    Auto Parts Mark-up

Mark your parts up at least 30%, 50% if at all possible. Labor in your area, I would think at least $65/hr, probably a fair bit more. Unless you're a complete outsider, you should be able to talk to some area shops and get an idea what the market is like.

    Fixing a pressure washer hose

Take it to a hydraulic hose shop, often your local NAPA has one. Have them cut the hose off and crimp a new fitting on the end. If you don't want to lose any length have them make an extension hose that screws onto the new fitting.

    cutting a hole in metal

I ended up using a hole saw like most of you suggested. It turned out fine, though I wish I would have seen this reply before I did it. Good advice there. Thanks guys.

    cutting a hole in metal

I need to cut a 3 inch hole in the inner fender of an old car I'm working on. The hole will bisect an overlap, where two panels come together and are spot welded, so part of the cut will be double the thickness. Can anybody suggest the best way to go about this? My first thought was a hole saw...

Need supply help for tire changer and balancer.

You can buy concentrated bead lube in a gallon for like $9, probably last a lifetime of home use. I'm almost certain T413 stems will work on everything you own. You might look at www.blackjacktirerepair.com for supplies or your local NAPA, if they don't stock tire repair products, tell them to...

    are craftsman sockets still USA?

I ordered a set of Craftsman impact sockets last month and was dismayed when they arrived...China. They must be transitioning right now because the product image on their website still showed the regular old US made sockets.
