Thanks all for the input. I didn't think about spring loaded darkening shades but that may not be a bad idea, especially due to the mentions of blinds and dirt/dust.
Hello all,
It's been a while since I've been on the forum but I received very valuable info here when building my first 32' X 48' a few years ago. Over the last year I built a second post frame shop (40' X 48) to use primarily for storage.
Now that I have the storage building, I'm using the...
We had a few of those year model Escapes in our company fleet and there was a recall due to a problem with the accelerator cable. There was an issue with the cable binding and becoming frayed.
Like someone mentioned above, it could be resulting from this problem.
The liftside bay in my new building is 24' wide with a 16' door. I have the lift column about 18" from the dividing wall and could easily fit a fairly large SUV on the other side of the lift. I do have 32' of depth to position the vehicle, however- it would likely be tougher if it were a...
Thanks, Im very happy with the build. Im very pumped about the lift and it wasn't really too expensive- about 1500 at Greg Smith and I picked it up and installed myself. Should easily make up for the cost with work I don't have to pay someone else to do!
As promised- a few more pictures of the outside now that it's almost complete..
Waiting on the outside lights and electrical connection
My main objective was to be true to the "theme" and design of my house- I think I succeeded, hope you agree. One remaining detail that I am still weighing...
A quick update- I promise to get better pictures of the outside this evening.
Garage doors went up at the end of last week. Liftmasters are installed- I'm still waiting on my electrical connection, have been promised by the electrician that it will be Wed or Thursday this week.
High lift...
Slow moving, but progress nonetheless:
Electrical service roughed in and inspected:
More electrical (notice the junction for the Liftmaster on the front wall)
And the item I'm particularly excited about- I installed the lift this weekend, just awaiting electric service connection...
Hello GJ members-
This isn't technically a garage thread, but as I know a lot of you are experienced in renovation and/or restoration, I thought I would give it a shot.
I recently purchased a restaurant/bar that is in a historic building that was previously a hardware store.
The prior...
Oh I'm sure those virgin floors wont make it through the end of summer! Don't have any FEs lined up currently, but do have 2 Clevelands in the works.
Nice looking ride btw!

Thanks! The 9X7 garage door on the side is for my Kubota tractor and my zero-turn mower so that I can get in and out without having to move any vehicles that will from time to time be in some state of disrepair and/or disassembly ;)
