How do you produce that curved and grooved radius?

Are those badges thin enough to bend by hand or do you have a process worked out to get them to conform to the tube shape so well? How are they attached?

    Above 1200 Sq/FT Restored 1930's Auto Shop

Thomas, I've been reading since the start, so page 335 seems like a good place to jump in. You've inspired me to be more patient with my finishing details. Im an all-go no-show racer normally. I've started using this new found patience by restoring bench vises and building shop tables thanks...

Vise restoration procedures, techniques, and parts acquisition...

I've been wondering the same thing about one of my Wiltons for awhile now. I cant seem to even find the right terminology for a google search to find a place that makes that kind of hardware

Everything you need to know about bench vises...

Here is a thread I put up awhile back about the vises I've restored with some help from this thread/forum, thanks again. I still need to get my hands on a t-handle for the swivel base of my Wilton in there, so if anyone has any leads that would be great...

    my USA-made vise restorations

I do need to be careful with this resto stuff, thats why Im working the kinks out on vises and stuff like that. I actually traded some fab work for some media blasting on certain parts, including the threads. My buddy does blasting at work and used something softer than I would have had laying...

Chinese vs. USA Craftsman RP ratchets (PICS)

No, Craftsman is an entry level USA tool price. Thats partially due to quality and partially due to economy of scale, but its still a USA price. Its typically double harbor freight, so they cant start using the same factory as HF...except, thats exactly what they are doing.

Chinese vs. USA Craftsman RP ratchets (PICS)

After a few pages of ****, Craftsman is still charging US prices and sneaking in Chinese goods. I dont want to support Chinese goods or deceitful companies, so the quality issue means absolutely nothing. Made in USA or no sale. I used to buy most of my hand tools, power tools, tool boxes...

    my USA-made vise restorations

kes, thanks! I had no idea what that one was, I just saw the usefulness and the "made in usa" and figured Id get more info as I had time outlaw, I knew about its connection to sears but no idea about its start date and numbering system, thanks! I would say it was purchased and installed new...

Anyone caved and bought non-usa Craftsman hand tools?

I just found out about this switch today thanks to this forum, which saves me from ever having to go to sears again. They sicken me. They lose my years of purchasing thousands of dollars of their tools, but obviously they dont care about that.

    my USA-made vise restorations

yeah that #6 is cool. It swivels horizontally on its base until tightened, and it can be lifted off and reset vertically though the other hole you can see. Its big jaws would make me think it may be wood related, but I dont know. Ive been using it as a lightweight vise on my fabrication table...

    my USA-made vise restorations

Steven, good call on the slow rust blue. I just youtubed it and wish I had known for the dunlap, it would have been cool looking. The littleton and wilton were totally impulse buys because of their style. I'm running out of tables I can even mount these too, so I'll just keep building more...
