I'm getting ready to run wiring for a 18,000 BTU mini-split AC for my garage. Reading the manual it says the following:
Install a surge protector and a disconnect switch box, and a dedicated circuit breaker with a capacity of 1.5 times the maximum current of the unit.
A properly rated...
Well I think i've decided that the best way is to forget the meter panel and just make room for a double pole and install a sub panel. The meter panel is problematic because of getting the new circuit wires run.
Here is a picture of the inside of the meter box:
I can't tell what size the output wires are to my panel but here is a closeup that probably doesn't help:
Well i cracked open the meter box and it looks like installing breakers is a no go. There is a plastic "guard" that is screwed into the box that covers all of the slots. Looks intentional such to prevent breakers from being installed. Perhaps i should take a picture and see if i can determine...
So i need to add 3 circuits to my garage:
240v - 25amp for mini split AC
240V - 15amp for table saw
120V - 20 amp for more garage outlets
My main meter panel on side of house is 200 amp with main circuit breaker only - here is a picture.
My house panel in the garage is a 200 amp panel and...
Hoping there are some electricians in the forum...
I need to add several circuits to my panel but the pnael is fully populated. Without adding a subpanel, is there a way to add more tandem breakers to my panel? It already has several tandems and it looks to me from the diagram on the door...
Located in central Florida.
3 car garage - 22X30 8ft ceiling with blown in insulation
Concrete block walls on 2 sides, insulated drywall house wall and 2 insulated garage doors.
Found a deal on a slightly used Daiken 22K BTU mini-split for $900
So should i buy it and find a local friend/tech...
Yes. A second bench is underway. 1 for reloading and the other for tools and projects. Also picked up one of those 44inch HF tool boxes. That thing is a tank - like to have killed myself getting it out of my truck by myself. Had to engineer some ramps to slide it off.
How should i build a long shelf (30ft) across the entire back wall of my 3-car garage? I want it up high 16 inches from the ceiling and 2ft deep. It will be for storing containers of junk, not real heavy. Like those rubbermaid containers.
The wall is concrete block (Florida Construction)...
