Yes, you may be correct that they owe me a second truss. The plans called for a 2 ply end gable. I assumed that the truss engineering firm had made the decision that a single ply was called for.

Yes, per the drawings.

A redesign is not out of the question. A lean-to would be easier and less costly. I’d need to get roughly the same ceiling height and still need to solve for the gable truss connection scheme. So I’m not there yet, but might wind up going down another path.
