30x40 shop build at the lake

Hey, The siding is hardie board. And yes the joists are 12” apart as I used composite decking on the top and that’s what was recommended. And yes, I spend as much time as possible out there!

Thanks Dennis, most of the services here are volunteer as well with the exception of the major city's, I work in the capital of our province but volunteer at the department at the lake. Also, love the Netherlands, only had the opportunity to spend some time in Amsterdam but would love to get...

Well the garage has once again taken a backseat to the wife's wishes, still waiting on the siding which will go on in the fall now but in the meantime I've started on a deck. Essentially done the substructure, trim the joists and put the fascia board on and add some blocking and done. I'll keep...

Well it's been a while since we've been able to make it out to the lake so not much progress has been made. Got me a new beer fridge and toolbox over the winter. The boys are enjoying a bounce while I clean up. . Put a few things up on the walls to get up off the ground and out of my way I...

Thanks Drives, love the blueprint cabinets, had a chance to grab some last year and waiting too long to make a decision and they were gone by the time I did, been keeping an out for more now that I see how great they'd be in the garage! 30x40 shop build at the lake...

Bib: I'll prob regret not running the Pex lines and putting a boiler in to heat the floor but cost was getting out of control so that was a money decision. As for heat I have a wood stove that's sitting in there waiting to be installed when I get the time and weather permits. We spray foamed...

Been a while since we've made it out to the lake, came out a day early to clear all the snow so the fam can get in tomorrow. Bought a new toolbox so between putting that together/filling it and building a bookcase, that should eat up my most of the time til New Years. I'll try and post some...

Finally made it back out to the lake, here's the inside. Got a lot of organizing to do since I just bought a new tool box and most of what was in here made it over to my workbench.

    My garage build: 70x30 detached

Very well done! One of the nicest garages and homes I've seen. And your choices of vehicles for your collection are absolutely stunning! You must be proud of all you've accomplished. Cheers Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk

Drives: I thought about that with the parts bins after a friends kid swallowed a screw, been scouring our buy and sell for something to put them in, might have to move them to my metal cabinet or a filing cabinet I have in the other corner, would be a good excuse to organize all the contents...

Show us Your Vintage Bench Grinders!!!!

Thanks for the info gentlemen! I was thinking I could use the foley for buffing wheels, but really have no use for a carbide grinder. I was wondering the same thing about that Rockwell, if I could find any attachments for normal grinder wheels or a belt like you said Voi. Like you said...

Show us Your Vintage Bench Grinders!!!!

Hey guys, these grinders just popped up for government auction a couple hours away from me, I like the look of the Rockwell with the stand. I only have a new master craft grinder, so not very familiar with any older ones, you guys think they're worth the drive if I can get them cheap enough?
