The one I posted is still in it's original home a beutiful old hardware store still packed with new old stock. There are some nice vises and machine tools on the upper floors as well but I didn't grab pictures. Maybe next time once I feel more comfortable.

I walked past this beauty a few times today before I noticed it. The owner was open to selling it but didn't want to put a number on it any thoughts?

No honestly I always get a kick out of finding something that isn't already posted. Rare as it is. I just jumped on the fact that Yankee was listed and there was no no.992. I knew Yankee wasn't the actual manufacturer but I scrolled rite past North Brothers to Yankee because that's what I call...

Yankee 992 with 1992 swivel base. 2" jaws that open 2" weight with base 5.2lbs. I actually acquired the vise a few years ago and the base a few weeks ago. When I bought the base I was sure it would fit my vise. At the time I didn't know the base is specific to the size of the vise so I did get...

I think there were 4 of the 8" Parkers there but that one was the nicest. I was kinda overwhelmed by what was available...

I had a very enjoyable day yesterday walking around the field of tools event in East Durham NY with my father. I didn't take many pictures but there was some impressive stuff there. Many 8" vises from many manufacturers. At least half a dozen Emeret vises. Dozens of rare jewlers vises. Most...

Micah Thank you and thank you for the information. I am interpreting the information from the catalog a bit different. The logo shown in the illustration of the 19 is a different style but so is the description of the jaw style I belive my jaw faces are an older style there are no screws. The...

    The VISES of Garage Journal

I scored this pretty clean Prentiss 19 over the weekend rite around the corner from my house. No major damage no cracks or missing parts. The swivel jaw and pin had been painted over and I assume not moved in many years. It didn't take much to get them moving though. I removed the swivel base...
