IF you go the flux core route (which I advise against depending on what you plan on welding) make sure to get good wire. Harbor Freight’s Chicago flux wire is garbage and will make a good machine weld terrible and a not so great machine virtually useless. I would have to agree with others on...
I'm a heavy duty mechanic that uses die grinders at least several times per week. My first HF angle grinder lasted about 8 years. Initially, the reverse threaded retainer that holds the shaft in the body would come loose often. I removed it, greased the gears, wrapped the retainer in Teflon tape...
Awesome build! I wish I had done a ceiling like that in my 40x40 - it really gives a clean finished look. I ended up essentially making a giant drop ceiling with 4x8 rigid foam insulation boards. You'll love the overhangs. I have 15' on one side and the back of my building and don't know what I...
Thanks guys! I saved it from the scrap pile at the local dump. As soon as I saw the SO badge I had to yank it out of the dumpster. I'll try to clean up the rust on the chrome and use as is. It will make a great bench top box for some smaller misc tools.
Picked up this awesome vintage Snappy box this morning! My 15 mins of research leads me to believe it's a K55-w. Can anyone out there confirm? This has an older emblem that's riveted on and does not have Kenosha WI below "snap-on". The perfectionist in me wants to strip and restore it but I...
Didn't read the whole thread BUT, if you still have the ratchet or get it back, take it apart and stretch the spring behind the pin in the changer (just a little). Used to have the same issue with new Matco ratchets and replacement head kits. QC started to slack a little and the head kits got to...
Sears/craftsman has an identical version of this (seems better built) and i believe it is only 19.99 I've had one for close to 15 years. Only had one wheel come loose once,
Thanks for the link. I have the IR titanium 3/8 and 1/2 guns and have been pleased with their performance over the last 5 years. The 3/4 won't be used much but I'd like to have a matching set unless the power difference is that significant.
I've seen these out for a little while now and I'm in the market for a 3/4 gun. They're "claiming" 1800 ft/lbs of breakaway torque which is well above what everyone else is rated at. Has anyone used one or have any comparison info against an IR titanium?
