Snap-on K55-W?? Any S.O. gurus?

Picked up this awesome vintage Snappy box this morning! My 15 mins of research leads me to believe it's a K55-w. Can anyone out there confirm? This has an older emblem that's riveted on and does not have Kenosha WI below "snap-on". The perfectionist in me wants to strip and restore it but I almost feel guilty being that it's in fairly decent shape being 75-80 years old. Thanks in advance!

Leave it alone. It's a K-55-W and it's in fantastic condition. Give it a bath and then use it.

Thanks guys! I saved it from the scrap pile at the local dump. As soon as I saw the SO badge I had to yank it out of the dumpster. I'll try to clean up the rust on the chrome and use as is. It will make a great bench top box for some smaller misc tools.

I have no idea! I've picked plenty of tools that were almost brand new from the scrap bin. I guess it's just a disposable world anymore.
