Intro - about to build 24x32 detached garage

What is your planned heat source? If you're going to put down the foam, you might as well run pex through it--that isn't the costly part, the foam is. Even if you don't use it, at least its there.

    Garage Weather Locks

Thanks for the reply. I'll look into it and will probably give it a whirl on the West facing door to try it out, then move onto the other two doors if it works out.

    Spray foam insulation

I had foam sprayed in my home, upstairs when I remodeled. Amazing difference. Tight as can be up there, quiet and warm. I also had the upstairs, and as soon as the bottom is roughed in, it will get the treatment too. Can't say enough good about it. It makes heating upstairs super easy, and...

    Garage Weather Locks

I don't have much on there, just the thin strip that came on the doors. They are effective when the wind isn't blowing hard.

Thanks-- I was lacking the key words to do an effective search.

    Garage Weather Locks

With the wind gusting at 30mph and a snow drift forming in my garage through the cracks created by the wind and my overhead door, I started looking for a solution to secure the seal better in these situations. Does anyone out there know of something that would attach to the wall, swing over and...

    Kid activities/chores in the garage

I remember my dad letting me take apart old electronics that were head to the trash. Old VCRs, Stereo, etc. anything that had screws to take it apart. He would task me with salvage of the screws or other useful parts for the junk drawer along with any scrap metal (as if there would be much)...

Gambrel Trusses, OSB or Plywood Flooring?

I have Gambrel trusses- you won't ever regret the extra space and the square room. I also had OSB T&G. No issues with it- I had carpet installed right on it and its working out great. I did put down a sealer on it for the potential spills and wet boots.
