Best Torque Wrenches for 50+ Years of Casual Use?

I’m quite partial too my Stahlwille torque wrenches. They have the 14x17 drive so you can swap head between 3/8, 1/2, and 3/4, and any ring or open end fittings you may want. Top Germany quality and nothing but the best. Probably worth looking into

    SP Tools: any users here?

Rather common and easily accessed over here in Australia, not bad, not great, pretty well on par with any other mid shelf tool shop stuff. Rather comparable to gearwrench and the likes. Coo is Taiwan I believe but don’t quote me.

Gedore 1B? (a.k.a. Why Oh Why Can't Gedore Make 7XL in SAE?)

I have 1b from 1/4” right through to 2 1/2”, absolutely no complaints at all , well made good fit, and can stand up to daily abuse working on forestry gear, would definitely recommend

    Super High Quality Expensive Tools

I really do enjoy the 3/4” drive Stahlwille torque wrench I brought by accident just a few weeks ago 😂

What is with the complete lack of progress on corded impacts?

I have a 1” drive Makita impact that’s rated to 1000nm, still 300nm less than the Milwaukee M18 high torque..

What would you use a 46mm spanner for?

I used to use 46 heaps for gas refinery stuff, 1 1/8 studs. I’ve used it a few times in hydraulics as well. Industrial gearbox studs, are a few examples. 46 is the standard for M30 nuts , and a conversion for 1 13/16

Just Stumbled Across This on Amazon....

I actually have one I made at home, but of RHS witha. Few pieces of keysteel welded on to “lock” the spanned in. The Snap Ons don’t seem to mind too much

Milwaukee 3/4" Hi Torque- Pin detent

I was referring to no internal grooves for a retaining ring to seat. So it does have a through hole? That would be good enough

Milwaukee 3/4" Hi Torque- Pin detent

Does anyone know if Milwaukee offer a 3/4 impact with pin detent or retaining rings over friction ring? Coming close to pulling the trigger but would much rather the pin as I plan on using with reasonably large socket and don't think the ring would hold the weight ", particularly with no...

Fixed square or ratchet head needed for saltus torque wrench

Stahlwille will be your go to, they have torque wrenchs based on the same concept.. I believe the inserts will be a 14x17, unless you got the smaller version. I have a 1/2" drive and brand new 3/4" drive inserts if you're interested

Power Hacksaw - A Thing of the Past?

We have one at work, gets used many times a day, being in a machine shop.. Bahco is still supplying blades, and I believe I've seen starrett blades in it too

My bench lathe needs a tune-up

First up, make sure you're using a somewhat decent material, for the excercise aluminium will probably do, as it's easy to achieve a good finish, and that might help pick where your problem is. Make sure you have minimal stick out of the work piece, 2xdiameter is a general rule of thumb, unless...
