Milwaukee 3/4" Hi Torque- Pin detent

Does anyone know if Milwaukee offer a 3/4 impact with pin detent or retaining rings over friction ring?
Coming close to pulling the trigger but would much rather the pin as I plan on using with reasonably large socket and don't think the ring would hold the weight ", particularly with no grooves

3/4" hog ring works fine until you have to use really worn shop sockets, then it's a pain in the *** unless you install a pin and ring in the through hole (which the Milwaukee does have).

Use my Milwaukee 3/4 on impact sockets up to 2" . They hold on well. The sockets are mainly Acklands-Grainger house brand Westward and some Proto

I was referring to no internal grooves for a retaining ring to seat.
So it does have a through hole? That would be good enough

I used a brand new wrench like this few weeks ago. There was no "Hi Torque" going on. Only great disappointment. Good 1/2" drive air impact is far more powerful than the unit I used. I removed several bolts with 1/2 breaker bar and relative ease that it didn't budge. Very surprised how gutless it was.

Member here explained that this is basically 1/2" drive wrench with 3/4" anvil. I would get to test one carefully before spending the money.

When 3/4" impact wrench does not remove a bolt, I expect a struggle with 3/4" breaker bar and at least 3-4 foot cheater pipe. Frequently something much worse actually.

I don't expect to be able to remove the bolts with 1/2" drive 24" breaker bar with one hand. That's what happened with 18V Milwaukee Fuel 3/4" impact wrench the drilling crew I was working for was kind enough to lend me.

I have no idea if this unit was faulty, (I tried both 5ah batteries they had - also new) or if this type of wrench is simply a turd. At least, with the unit I used -detent pin or lack there of hardly matters. Larger than 32mm sockets have no business on that gun.

Note: I have no idea if it was, "old" or "new" version. Bought here in Iceland this summer, didn't pay attention to type number on the wrench.

So my suggestion to the OP stands - get to test one before you buy.

Now I am waiting for the check from DeWalt or better yet, Snap On! ;)

It takes a fair amount of pressure to place the socket on the anvil of the Milwaukee. if I am really torquing on something I need a prybar to get the socket off afterwards. You can't pull it off easily.

In regards to the Milwaukee 1/2 and 3/4, they are basically the same impacts, each has a low and high torque setting. Low is useless. My 3/4 will easily take of nuts that the 1/2 won't budge.

So what would one use for pin and clip? :headscrat

Either pin and o-ring, or "Ret Ring" style. Both are bought sized specific to the groove in the driven end of the socket.

You can find the Ret Ring style sold under Armstrong, Wright, and other brands. I don't have my catalogs with me for part numbers, but you should be able to find them on eBay or Amazon.
