Need opinions, put in motorized screens, opening wasn't level so i had to shim, trim?

Could you make a valance that attaches to the front of the header and hangs down to either hide the gap (possibly 2" to 2 1/2" or the entire unit (6"+) if you have clearance. Then paint it the same color of the header and it should disappear.

Making the shop match the house

I went for the match as well, mainly to satisfy CC&R but also because we are both a bit picky!. The first photo shows the shop under construction from the front of my house, but you get a feel for the placement. I owned the lot behind the house on a cul-de-sac and given that the lot my house...

    The RV Garage

Thanks for the info Forrest, I know all about being buried in snow as well, 20" the day after Christmas and -19 actual temps.....it might be June until I get back out there to start building. Thanks again, your place is beautiful!

    Choosing relative position of garage

We ended up using the layout of the lot as our guide. Owned the lot behind my house which was pie shaped due to being on a cul-de-sac. We wanted a storage/wood shop including a spot to park an RV. Originally planned on being parallel with the house but it didn't leave enough space to back the RV...

    Big Sky 34x36

Thanks guy's, the entire project went pretty fast, it was about 40 days from breaking ground to finish. I thought about a pole shed but given the CCR in the subdivision we were concerned with the ability to finish it to match the house. At the end of the day it was probably for the best to...

Detached Shop or Garage Cost Per Square Foot

I guess there is a huge difference in finishes and costs, I am just finishing a 34 x 36, stick built, 2x6 walls, electrical, insulation, sheet rock, 4' stem walls, 14x36 RV pad and triple wide driveway. We are also using Hardie siding, plus we will have stone work to match the existing house...

    Big Sky 34x36

Hi All, was in Alaska on business last week and the crew got with it. They have finalized the RV pad, Sidewalk and Driveway. The insulation is done and siding is finished as well. The sheet rock is being delivered today and they anticipate starting Wednesday as well. Had one issue, the...

Framers are moving right along! That Hip roof with a Gable end over the larger garage door is quite a feat of framing, at least it would be for me. The second shot give a bit of perspective of where the garage is located in comparison to the house. Looks small back there, damn should have went...
