    Spreading the Bonney affliction!

"Smokey Yunick didn't live there after WWII. He settled down in Daytona Beach in 1946 and opened up Smokey's Best Damn Garage in Town in 1947." Yeah, hence my interest in when that box would have been available. Didn't seem like a stretch that he would have gotten out of the service and...

    Spreading the Bonney affliction!

Picked up this Bonney MB82 (right?) for $100 (full of tools) in Trappe, PA. Someone pointed out that given where it was bought and the "SMOKEY" stenciled on it it might be associated with Smokey Yunick. Anyone know the first year that the MB82 was available?

That box appears to be an MB82. First catalog I've found referencing that model is 1950. He moved to FL in 47, so it's close. Maybe he picked up a full Bonney set in that box straight out of the service and it stayed at the family place in PA?

Wow...I had never heard of Smokey Yunick before, but damned if he wasn't born in Neshaminy Falls, PA, which is less than an hour away from Trappe.

All I can add is that it was bought from a FB Marketplace seller in Tappe, PA for $100 (full of punches, chisels, files, etc.; I could barely lift it) and he was selling it as a "DeeZee Toolbox", LOL.

Help me identify this [Snap-On?] toolbox?

No, it's *way* too late, LOL. I had to spend a couple of weeks recently clearing all the boxes out of my living and dining rooms :ROFLMAO: I had still missed the oval until you pointed it out, so thank you!

Help me identify this [Snap-On?] toolbox?

Found it! It was this *AWESOME* bunch of information from @twertsy that led me to it: https://www.garagejournal.com/forum/threads/vintage-tool-box-identification.295748/. It's a Bonney. Looks like mid-50s. This is the only pic I've found so far of such a thing:

Yeah, someone suggested Rem Line in the first place I posted it but I couldn't find any likely matches. Tried looking for Waterloo, Matco, Mac, etc. Struck out. The single knob and single support seem to be unusual.

So I've heard. Just did some googling for similar MBC boxes and struck out. That single knob on the lid seems to be especially hard to find.

The VINTAGE toolboxes of Garage Journal!

Good morning, everyone. It was recommended that I try my query in this thread. Hope someone can help. I'm trying to identify the make/model of this top box. Notable features: Can't find any ID (specifically no S-O model stamped in the back). Was originally a very S-O red. Shallow top tray...

Help me identify this [Snap-On?] toolbox?

Thanks for pointing out that vintage toolbox thread. I looked high and low last night for an example of a Rem Line box like this to no avail.

Help me identify this [Snap-On?] toolbox?

I've read several places elsewhere that some older boxes weren't stamped, hence my not ruling S-O out. And it's always possible that it is stamped somewhere under that olive drab paint job, but I can't find it. Another notable feature is that it only has the lid support under the left side...

Help me identify this [Snap-On?] toolbox?

I can't find a specific Snap-On model that matches this exactly, but it sure seems like a Snap-On to me. Notable features: Can't find any ID (specifically no S-O model stamped in the back). Was originally a very S-O red. Shallow top tray. Riveted flat handles that are rounded for the whole...
