Sizing window AC BTUs for a small shop

Not derailing the OP, but quick question. A friend of mine who is a builder once told me you can expect a 20 degree drop with central AC. So with 97 outside, are you able to cool down to 70 or lower if you wanted to?

    Diamondback HD... Again...

I’ve been through 4 trucks, a platinum and now my third Gen2 Raptor, but my first DiamondBack. It’s waterproof, extremely heavy duty. Their customer service is top notch. All that said, if you need to carry big or tall things, even occasionally, it can be a bit inconvenient. Even removing...

How To Pour A Concrete Slab | 36x48 Barn-Shop Garage Build | Time Lapse Part 1

That was very cool. And if you don't like the soundtrack, just mute it. Time Lapse has no sound anyway. People just find things to complain about. My question is, and I'm sure I'm just not seeing it, is where is the rebar? It looked like the concrete was poured right on the dirt.

    Raccoon problem

So I'm a city boy through and through. Even though we moved to the "burbs" back in 1989 and have lived here since, I grew up in the Bronx, NY (well, never really grew up, still a kid at heart), and so knew nothing of raccoons, etc. Only thing I ever saw that scared me was a big ol' waterbug on...

What did you do "IN" your garage today?

Don't know if this counts, but I unboxed my new "cheap" California Air compressor today. I also opened and laid glue traps around my hibernating 911 to try to keep the rodents from eating the wires.

My Gorgeous Floor is Turning White

someone here said epoxy doesn't breathe and therefor would not allow moisture to come up through it but that it would lift or peel. Can I therefore assume epoxy is not a suitable floor coating for my basement which, while it hasn't happened in may years, has had water come up through the slab?

    Garage Door Windows or not???

When I purchased new doors recently I went with a wood look and didn't want windows. I previously had white doors with windows. Well, manufacturer/installer screwed up and they came with windows. I'm glad they did. And they are on the top row, which is your option, and so too high to peek in.

    Swisstrax vs. RaceDeck

Please see my edit in my first post if you haven’t where RaceDeck is taking care of the issue.

Ventillation in an energy efficient garage

Wssix99. Thank you for pointing me to this thread. Unfortunately most of it is way over my head. So one quick question. While I did read most of it, will a simple AC window unit work in my case? I do have spares from before I retrofitted my home with central AC. Thanks again.

    Excessive Heat to Exhaust?

Thank you all. I will read and reread your suggestions and visit the links. Foolishly I skimped on the windows and did not match the existing windows in the house, so no screens or whatever those plastic dividers in the windows are called. I hear you on the attic fan. We have one but...

    Excessive Heat to Exhaust?

I've posted in another thread the small garage I just built for my 911. It's only 22 x 12 with an 8' ceiling. It was originally an overhang which we poured footings and foundation for with new slab, exterior plywood, Hardyplank siding, R30 or so insulation in ceiling and walls. It has 2...

    Swisstrax vs. RaceDeck

In fairness, I did want to "bump" this thread to say I did receive a call from Jennifer at Jorgen's behest requesting a tile count of those that show the stress marks. They are going to replace them and hopefully also have someone in the area who can remove the damaged tiles and replace with...

    Swisstrax vs. RaceDeck

I'm not sure where you have left me a message or your personal information. I am new to this forum but it's the same general software as most. I have no PM from you in my box. The only two messages I have are from May when I first requested a sample and then asked another question. I'd be...

    Swisstrax vs. RaceDeck

If the solid SwissTrax have the same attachment mechanism as their flow through, you could not get those stress marks. They connect in a much different and much easier manner so there is nothing that would cause them. The SwissTrax can be pressed together with the palm of your hand. You'd...
