I have noticed that some of the new higher end jacks include a magnet to catch particles inside the jack and it is supposed to prolong the jack life. Would a rare earth magnet stuck to the bottom of the power unit on a regular floor jack do the same thing?
I am rebuilding a Craftsman 2 ton floor jack model number 328.12160 that was made in the mid 80s. I have everything apart except for the tank. The tank nut came off pretty easily but the tank will not come off. Is it a press fit into the block, or threaded on, or is there a hidden pin somewhere...
