The girlfriend surprised me with something desperately needed for the new shop... yet the sales crew at Canadian Tire recommended the top cabinet instead of the bottom one (said I could build a shelf to put it on). Hmm... buggers... since I don't even have the drywall/wiring done... looks like...

The last 20' of roof metal is on... first day we've had since the last metal showed up where we could get up on the 10/12...

Well... the rest of the exterior metal showed up, even the missing windows and the guys went on despite the below freezing temps and the 4-6" of snow we had for a week.

Well, had to go back to work for a bit so missed some of the metal installments... but progress is being made.

Whew... another long day down the tubes... It started off this morning with a bunch of 20 year old hockey players helping us out... and by 6pm all the trusses are standing.
The guys were quite impressed with the "bowling alley" upstairs... and I'm sure their still shaking...

8am on a Monday morning and the local AA Hockey Team (IceDogs) show up to help us old guys out. Seriously... these guys are from all over Canada here to play AA hockey and the offered to come help us lift the trusses into place on the 3 meter high walls.

Ok.... now you made me think I should've gone with the stairs inside rather than outside... they don't take up as much room as I thought, still lots for cabinets and such.

Heh flyguy330... the pad looks amazing!! As far as I know so far here in Ontario we just have to put the styrofoam up against the footings to prevent heat from escaping outwards... haven't seen or been told anything about 2' around.... just down to the bottom of the footings. Any more detail...
