Wouldn't a smooth finish on bare concrete be best for welding?

Epoxy over a really old slab

Two inches? Does it have a lot of cracks?

    The beginning prep for epoxy

Despite our efforts, we end up breathing some dust. If cleaning spots saves one minute of grinding it is worth doing.

    The beginning prep for epoxy

Grinding will take the spots out but why not spend a few minutes cleaning spots? Might save some grinding.

Racedeck, it doesn't make any sense to me?

I think I'll use epoxy in my garage. Concrete cracks that are deeper than surface cracks probably cannot be fixed with epoxy. The movement of the concrete is causing those cracks.

Racedeck Owners, How many of you purchased Tuffshield?

Jeff, there is some information in the old threads. People that have used it for a few years and new users have more information.

How tight is the fit between the tiles? Does spilled water and oil go quickly to the floor? Can a few tiles in the center of the floor be lifted for clean-up? Could I remove say half of the tiles in a two-car garage in a couple of hours? Would the wheels of a floor jack lifting a 1 ton truck...

"...custom floor...bring his business to the next level" "some people don't mind paying for quality..." We love quality but 99% can't spend that much on a floor coating. It takes a good salesman to show people they should spend tens of thousands of dollars on a floor coating. Your NSX is my...

    top coatings while pouring concrete?

I went to your link and clicked on "stained glass" and saw some concrete treatment I hadn't seen. Anybody else familiar with it?

    Need some opinions.

I would choose concrete over rubber when oil and grease is expected.

1/2" Wide, 2"+ deep crack in my garage floor. Repair recommendations?

Concrete will crack but rebar should prevent a crack from opening up to 5/8"!

whats the point of a nice floor

How solid is your sub grade? I'd go with the strength of 6" of 5,000 lb, #5 on 12" centers. Keep that rebar well chaired in the center of the slab. I've seen 4" slabs on solid sub grade hold heavy weight while reinforced 6" slabs on a less solid sub grade cracked.
