    Ratchet: grease or oil

Well, can't really do anything with it. Strangest thing is, in Europe, no-one has ever heard of servicing your ratchet, hence, no special oil available... Guess i'll clean them out and use compressor oil in there...

    Ratchet: grease or oil

What's the verdict? Since I read here (http://www.garagejournal.com/forum/showthread.php?t=233069&page=4) that grease should be avoided as it would harden in cold times and make the ratchet slip. I have used grease in one ratchet, but never noticed a difference between using it on a cold day or...

    Beta Tools - wrenches

Beta wrenches Beta gives you lifetime warranty on their products. These aren't new right out of the box, but I doubt they have ever been used. Doesn't look like they are used... I bought them in a bankruptcy deal of a local dealership, these were the spare tools stored in their warehouse. MM...

    Wood + concrete drills

Thanks for the info Monte... As for wood: CV drill bits are capable of temps up to 250degr celsius, whereas HSS drillbits withstand almost 600degr celsius. So I am going for HSS, that's for sure. As for concrete: The Bosch ones have a hard metal carbide tip (thats where the HM CT stands for)...

    Wood + concrete drills

Not everyone is american :) It's just a language barrier thing, we call this a bit: and this a drill: and this a drill machine: And good you pointed it out, because that's not proper English/American. Back on topic: @Monte: So for concrete, the first Bosch set you sent seems the best...

    Wood + concrete drills

Well, I'm not a fan of multi-material. I already have a cassette with good metal bits, so am looking for both wood and concrete bits. Thanks Monte for using the Dutch sites for me, really fantastic help!! The Bosch set seems great. What I also like about this is the 'set' it is in. I want one...

    Wood + concrete drills

Can anyone point me in the direction of the best or good wood + concrete drills? Preferably anything available in Europe / Netherlands. I'm thinking of these Metabo's: http://www.conrad.nl/ce/nl/product/466775/Metabo-630429000 But do they make their own or is it China? Is it any good?

Lug nuts at 88nm? I thought 100nm minimum in every application? Nice performance though for the Makita!

Lift: 4 post vs 2 post

I don't get it why people don't like to work on cars on 4 posts. I've worked in a shop for quite some time now with just 4 posts, nothing you can't do. Other shops do it too here, works just great! Two big axle supports or a in-between-lanes lift and your golden! If I had the room, 4 post...

    Sockets on air wrench

It is weird indeed ;) it's just to make sure for me... I can no longer warranty my sockets if they've been used on impacts, and you can easily tell if they have... and since I've not used an air ratchet before, I wanted to make sure ;)
