Thanks everyone for the guidance...I’m waiting for a reply from that seller about the tools. It’s an hour away from me so I dont want to drive without some more info.

Currently listed at $200 with tools in it although I doubt I will want the tools. Even if it was priced right $200 was more than I wanted to spend.

    Older Cornwell chest

I'm back with another guidance question from the most experienced minds here. An older Cornwell Elite tool chest popped up for sale that peaked my interest, only problem is I have little idea about a reasonable price for the item.

I ended up negotiating the price down to $65 so I picked it up a few hours ago. Everything seems in decent shape although the "arms" (for lack of a better term) on the top box are missing allowing the lid to fall all the way back.

Thanks for the reply...I didn’t know about the difference in sears vs craftsman badging. I generally can talk people well off of their asking price but didn’t know how far off this was.

Hey guys, after lurking here for a while I've become smitten with the pursuit of vintage tools. These items popped up for sale locally but the seller had little information. The bottom box has "sears" stamped on the front however the top box has no identifying badging. Could anyone provide...

Correction this isn't a Chicago vise...I had it mixed up with another one. I'll post pics whenever I figure out how to do so.

Appreciate the links of dimensions and weight. Yes this one does have a Chicago identification on the side. $300 is the asking price which seems somewhat high to me but I would be open to any advice on how much one should pay for an item like this. I'm a novice when it comes to valuing these...

USPS tops out of 70 lbs so the vise plus packaging would possible make it over that amount so that leaves fedex or ups. If anyone has any tips for how to package one of these I would greatly appreciate it. Also what would be a fair price from something in good condition?

Well this site has now caused to me believe I need an older vise haha Now I'm looking to get a 1957 wilton C1 vise shipped and was needing to get a rough estimate on weight prior to pulling the trigger. Does anyone have a good guess on this? Also rough dimensions would help as well.
