I just built my 36 X 48 shop last year. One suggestion is to wire two seperate 20 amp circuits to each of two outlets in a four gang box at each location. Gives you plenty of power at each location. I located them about 3 feet high also.

Look at the Insteon products at Smarthome. I use several of the RF and wired switches and outlets. They are great. Buy them on Amazon though. Same products but cheaper.
