I acquired a Pullmax back in November and have been doing a refurb on mine too.
Like you, I will probably make most of my own tooling but fab'ing the louver tool was a little over my head so I acquired a brand new louver die set from Metallabfab...
Cool find, there was a Marchant 6 ( http://www.marchantmachine.com/6f.htm ) for sale at an auction here recently without jaws that sold for 3,400$ .
