Hello everyone,
Has anyone here tried the Black & Decker cordless finish nailer? I don't need it to make a living with, just occasional use. I have used the Paslode cordless nailers a lot when I was doing carpentry for a living and would like to have a finish nailer for the occasional piece of...
Thanks everyone, I contacted another finisher in the area. He is more than I had original budgeted but less than the guy who went up on me. He is pouring the concrete today While I work overtime to pay him. I'll get pictures of the slab and post them if I can figure out how.

Thanks for the responses. I don't think I want a broom finish as I am going to put down VCT. I have poured broom finished concrete before. I guess the real question is how do I get the slick finish? After I run the bull float over the surface do I just leave it alone and let it dry? Or do I need...
As you know I have started my tight budget garage. I have finished digging the foundation by hand, have the forms in place and the vapor barrier and the wire down. The guy I talked to about finishing the concrete for me came out yesterday and looked at my work to make sure it was ready to pour...
I have not read the book. But as a machinist I was taught that the rounded edge of the flat washer goes down the sharp edge goes against the nut or screw head. This keeps the burr on the sharp edge of the washer from marring the surface of the part, and also allows the washer to rest flat agains...
I am getting ready to pour the concrete for my garage. I am planning to put VCT on the floor. I know with epoxy you should not have the concrete sealed. Is it a problem with VCT? Thanks for your help.

I like the idea of red cabinets. I repainted our kitchen cabinets red using an exterior simi-gloss house paint. I was suprised at how many coats of paint it took to cover the dark stain (4!). Of course I was using a brush. But the guy at the paint store said that red does not cover as good as...
I'm not on quite that tight a budget! I am trying to keep the whole project under $4000.00 though. When I was a young boy my grandfather built a house out of all salvaged materials. I spent a summer straighting out used nails for him to use in the house.

I looked in to renting someting like a bobcat, it's just outside the budget unless I want to cut back on the building. It'll take a while but I will get it dug.
Yes I have a small car (miata and subaru). The building is going to be a multipurpose shop. Mainly woodworking. I will not park my cars in the shop just pull them in to work on them. The garage door is going to be in the side of the building so the parking area will only be 16' long.
Started digging my foundation this weekend. Due to budget constrants am digging it by hand, this is going to take a little while as I have quite a bit of dirt to move and am no longer a young man. So its dig a little rest a little, dig a little rest a little. My son came over Sat. and helped for...
After almost a year in this house I am going to start on my garage. Just got the permit yesterday. I don't have a lot of space and am on a tight budget, but will build a 16 x 20 1.5 car garage. I've looked at a lot of the threads on this forum and have gotten a lot of good ideas that I am going...
