In either case check out what similar ones in size go for locally, they'd be typical used box value and it can be surprising what things go for, both high and low.
Not really, go by price and check the specs to make sure you're not getting one that has lower specs then the rest but they're usually pretty much all the same compressor only painted different colors with different names on them.

Are you sure it's not coming from the car like condensation from AC or leak? Usually when it's from below the slab the slab discolors from having moisture in it and doesn't puddle like that. Does it show up if you don't park inside?
