Anyone actually set fire to something with sparks from the grinder?

A friend was having his long-awaited home remodel done. It involved every room of his single story home, plus the large detached garage. They waited months for things like skylights. New roof, siding, and gutters were part of the plan. Everything was moving along nicely until the day the guy...

    V3 Bug/Suggestion Box

Something else I've noticed regarding pages- if you are reading a thread on a page other than 1 in a subforum and you get to the bottom of the last page of the thread, when you click on the subforum name at the bottom it takes you back to the top of page 1 instead of the page where the thread...

    The Atomic Bed Rack

I know this isn't the intent of the thread, but I can't resist- I have a Diamondback AND a $900 slide out tray on a Colorado! Talk about spend-overkill. But it does what I need it to do for my job. And I didn't have to pay for it. I have a VERY accommodating boss who listens to reason. Different...

Switch/Switch Plate alignment - any pro tips?

I just thought of this, and it's really going to sound silly, but if you have many to do... Grab a 3 gang cover and drill holes over the device screws. Get the devices close, place the cover over the devices, and tighten the screws through the holes. Kinda like using a template. It should work...

Can anyone recommend a good locking hitch pin?

Anyone I know that decided to leave a hitch in their receiver year round eventually found that the locking device had corroded to the point where it was inoperable, whether it was a pin or a separate lock. Not sure where you are, so keep weather in mind. Hitches are made to be removed. You...

    Service Door Help

Measure the width, as it should be set in the wall. Is it half the thickness of the wall? Was he, maybe, supposed to install both side by side? I install door automation, so I see lintels quite often. I have seen 2 side by side above door openings. You've mentioned your contractor a few times...

52 chevy chop and random projects

Hey, Chris, that is some nice work. Good catch on the rear window. Now is definitely better than later! Make it look the way you want. I'm not sure I would have caught that, thinking it must be right because I took the same amount out as the chop. Sent from my SM-G965U using Tapatalk

What did you buy while waiting for your garage build?

Ok, time for some clarification. I placed the order for this at the same time we awarded the contract for reconstruction of the bay at the station in which it was to be parked. We hit a few unexpected conditions, so the truck arrived before we were ready. It's "my" truck, but not MY truck, if...

    Car Storage Conundrum

This is where I am, as well, but I think I'm beginning to understand. I picture the space built as standard construction for a living space with the stem wall around the entire perimeter. Walls were built on the stem wall. The garage door is part of the exterior finish, not ever meant to be...

What did you buy while waiting for your garage build?

I bought this. When it arrived, the bay wasn't quite ready, so we had to store it at another house for a month. Sent from my SM-G965U using Tapatalk

    Wiring rv hookups From garage

Let's step back just a bit and ask a few questions. It is in your garage- is the RV kept in the garage? Is this used just to keep the batteries charged and power the fridge? Will you run AC? Do you plan to stay in the RV while at home? If you want to charge the battery and run the fridge before...
