    Insulation Questions

There are a lot of knowledgeable folks here. I can only tell you want I've found that works. We have a place in SW Wisconsin and about five years ago built a 30x48x14 pole barn with a concrete floor on that property. The budget has been limited, so we've been doing things in stages. A while...

Labor of Love: A Casket for my Grandmother

Well, that is darned cool. It's something that most of us would not think to do, nor do many have the skills within your family. God bless you and all who did this. My sincerely condolences.

Please Educate Me on Infrared Heat (LPG)

Good info. Certainly something to factor into the decision. I don't know that it would be a problem with my contemplated level of usage, but I'll have to noodle this over.

Please Educate Me on Infrared Heat (LPG)

My situation: Our second home will hopefully become our primary residence in the next couple of years. It's located in SW Wisconsin. We have a 30x48x14 pole shed that's very well insulated with closed cell foam. The walls are finished, but it's open to the trusses (roof is also insulated). We...

    Sliding barn style doors

It sounds like some folks may have figured out how to avoid problems, but when I was building my pole barn, the builders (Cleary) told me that sliding doors always posed a problem with sealing and rodents. Because of this, I went with overhead doors, and I haven't had any mouse issues.

    What would you do different.

I've got a 30x48x14 pole barn that's come along nicely in the almost four years since we built it, but once I get all our equipment inside, it fills up. It sure would be nice to have an extra 12' of depth, but I suppose that's on the wish list of a lot of people.

    Racedeck FreeFlow this slippery? (youtube)

There's no DMCA violation in a review or critique of a product. Folks need to be wary of abusing the DMCA take-down provisions, lest they find themselves at the wrong end of a costly lawsuit. There are have been some instances in which substantial damages awarded awarded against the person...

New home garage floor defect. What are my options?

Definitely a possibility, but the fact that the defective floor is clearly visible and not a hidden defect may not help the OP.

    Wanting to build a 30 x 48 x 10 Pole Shop. Need some advice

If you can talk your S.O. into it, I'd consider higher sidewalls. I have a Cleary 30x48x14. Mostly, I wanted to have additional clearance in case the day comes when I am able to install a lift. I have a bathroom in the corner of our pole building, too. It's a really nice touch.

    Rust Bullet vs.Rustoleum Rock Solid

I can't offer a comparison between the two products that you're considering, but I do have experience with Rust Bullet, having installed it on my son's garage floor a couple of months ago. Over the years, I've had experience with epoxy, regular old floor paint, and tiles. I did a bit more prep...

Interior Wall Sheathing - Why Use Metal?

I used T1-11 on the interior of our pole shed. It's a work in progress, but I like the rustic appearance, and sound doesn't bounce around.

    quality 5 gal gas can?

I'd personally go with plastic. One of the things I'd recommend though, is getting rid of the new allegedly environment-friendly pouring spout and replacing it with and EZ-Pour spout: http://ezpourspout.com/ Unlike the new EPA-mandated designs, this is actually a secure, usable spout that...

    Garage wall insulation

I'd seriously recommend looking at closed cell spray foam. We've used it in a couple of applications--a 48 x 30 pole shed and the walkout basement of our Wisconsin cabin--and it provides a phenomenal increase in the energy efficiency of a structure. Not only does it provide a high R-value per...
