Lets make an all vintage Snap-on tool picture thread!

Picked up this small tool lot the other day. I can't tell if these are 1927/1928 or 37/38 tools. SG-6 and SG-12 swivel grip extension bars, A-17 drag link socket, and a 5/8" No 20 flexible socket. The finish on the sockets is still pretty good, and the extensions have some good patina The 12" is...

    CAT carrying Stahlwille ratchets now

Flex head part numbers are: 665-0231: 1/4"flex head 665-0232: 3/8" flex head 665-0233: 1/2" flex head It also looks like there is a set available with some sort of foam insert with all three. That is 665-0234. From a quick search, I don't see a Stahlwille set with foam, so this might be unique...

    Ratchet Modifications, Lower Spring Constant?

I clipped the spring in my Icon split beam torque wrench to reduce the backdrag a bit. I actually went a little too far and it started skipping. I was able to stretch it out and get it feeling pretty good.

Koken Surface drive vs Flat drive sockets

Nope, not giving up that easily, and I don't think I missed your point, but just explained it badly. The whole point of this forum is to learn and discuss. Say you need 0.002" clearance between your hex head and the socket interior wall. On a surface drive, that points that it rocks back and...

Yes, my mistake. This is what happens when I look at GJ at work.

Koken Surface drive vs Flat drive sockets

Socket manufacturer's must have some tolerance clearance for the socket to fit on any fastener. A 13mm socket can't measure exactly 13mm or it might not fit on some fasteners. For surface drive sockets, since the contact is further from the corner of the hex, you get more angular movement for...

    Show your new tool arrivals

Was able to meet up with my local SO driver last week. I’m a home gamer, but he’s nice enough to meet if i text him and can be a little flexible with his schedule. His warehouse is super close to my work as well. I needed to warranty a 27mm impact and after replacing the oil filter housing my...

Looking into buying an older Snap On Tool Box

I paid 1500 for my Snap-On SM0047, which is the military version of the KRL761B. I had to replace several latches, but the slides just needed a regreasing to be smooth. Its 54" x 24". https://www.garagejournal.com/forum/threads/show-your-new-tool-arrivals.103272/post-10087454

    CAT tools

Snap-On short pattern wrenches are not flank drive plus, but yes these are likely the same forging as the Williams wrenches LINK. That set is a bit different that its 8mm - 19mm but skips 16mm and 18mm. Those are common sizes on CAT machines for M10 and M12 bolts since they use ISO bolt head...
