Just in case someone in the future has the same problem, there is a way to change the amount of temperature rise needed before turning off. It is not in any manual. I had to call LG support and they were able to talk me thought the steps. That seems to have fixed the problem.

Your second link didn't work. You will need to make sure the tubes will work wired for double ended power. A lot will not.

Should work as long as you run a separate dimmer wires(gray/violet) to each circuit. Only issue is you wont be able to have some lights on full bright while other dimmed.
