In the market for a new floor jack

I like the Arcan 2.5 ton I bought at Costco for about $100. Only complaint is that it maxes out at 18.5 inches but it only weighs 53 pounds so it's great to throw in the trunk for road trips. I may still pick up the XL35 for extra height since Northern Tool frequently has them on sale plus $20...

    OBD2 for home use.

Don't know if this is inline with your budget but I wound up doing a lot of comparing and settled on the Innova 31603. It can read ABS, has live data functions as well as other features. It can be had for under 200 from Amazon. If it saves you two hours of shop labor it's already paid for...

    Tekton 24335 Torque wrench

I have this one (and an inch-lb Tekton) and have been really happy with both. I use it for anything 40 lbs. and up. Under that I use my CDI 10-100 wrench just to stay closer to the middle of the range. Tested the Tekton when I got it and it was well within spec but you can easily fine tune them...

    Good torque wrench brand

I have a CDI which is very nice and very accurate. I also have two Tekton's that I've been happy with and are a great bargain at $40 or so. The Tekton's are also very easy to fine tune the calibration if desired.

    Tekton Customer Support

My first purchase from Tekton was an inch-lb torque wrench. It was way off cal when I got it. I called customer service and they verified how I was testing and sent me a new wrench priority mail. Had it within 48 hours. It was GREAT customer service. I dealt with Dave who is a forum member here.

    torque wrench

My 10-100 ft. lb. cdi worked fine at 18 pounds. I did test it beforehand though to make sure it was accurate since that's at the very low end of its range.

    DA Polisher?

I guess it depends on what the OP considers reasonably priced. I toyed with the idea of getting the Cyclo dual head polisher and then a Griots Garage with 3 and 6 inch backing plates for smaller areas. No doubt the Flex is very nice but I decided for my limited usage the Griots would suffice.

    DA Polisher?

I did a lot of research before getting the Griot's Garage 6 inch DA polisher. The 3rd generation model is the newest and it comes with a lifetime warranty. I chose this over the Porter Cable 7424. These two are probably the least money to get into a 'real' polisher. The $40 ones don't have...

    performax mid chest at Menards

Took a flyer on the Performax 17" deep 3 drawer midchest from Menards because of the current sale. Seemed ok for the use it would see from me but putting in the plastic feet was enough to pop the bottom seam loose. I know you get what you pay for but I thought that was a little extreme! Looks...

Easy way to check torque wrench for calibration?

Just to clarify, this is the one I use, not the HF one. It also has the cover for the male end so you can put it in a vise and not mar anything. Not everything is junk at HF but I personally wouldn't buy anything precision there but to each their own.

Easy way to check torque wrench for calibration?

After reading some reviews on the Powerbuilt 940759 I bought one on sale for $40. It's digital just like the HF one and came with an adapter so it can be easily clamped in a vise. I was amazed at how accurate it is. I had just gotten a new CDI torque wrench with a calibration certificate and...
