LG Mini split condenser motor help

Could you get the old motor rewound? No idea on the interchangeability of the new motor.

    Best Mini split

Not sure what is available in your market but we having been fitting a lot of Toshiba units the last few years with zero issues, 5 or 7 year warranty depending on installers accreditation. Daikin seem to have lost their way quality wise, also Fujitsu very poor coils, had loads leak under...

    Tools from the old world

I think Britool Hallmark is still a thing, they are marketed more for the automotive trade. Been a lot of good companies ruined by Stanley Black and Decker.

Slotted/Phillips combo heads; which driver do you use?

We get that style a lot here too, some are philips/flat and some are pozidriv/flat, I use Facom Borneo screwdrivers on them as the tips have the same +/- shape as the screws. You'd struggle to undo them with a normal driver afterwards!

    Air conditioning hose crimper

The hydraulic hose crimpers don't put the right kind of crimp on the hose to work with ac fittings. Years back had a job of piping up a load of ac systems on some Mitsubishi fork lifts with aftermarket cabs, company had us use their hydraulic crimper, pretty much every joint leaked after the...

    Mini Ceiling Cassette Installation

What is the 3M foam seal sealing? All the facia panels I've seen on cassettes have been either plastic or fibreglass, can't see either of them being fire rated. You might need to build a fire rated box over the top of the cassette to seal off the garage if I have understood your situation...

1/4"dr 1/2" semi deep socket brands?

Any suggestions for brands other than Snap On (none in stock in the UK until May or there abouts) I have a ratcheting ring spanner that I could use but am trying to justify my long handled 1/4" ratchet purchase....

    Torx T17???

Well.... turns out I need my eyes testing, tried a new torx plus driver which was a better fit but once removed and in the daylight I could see they were in fact hex/allen headed screws......

    Getting Started with AC Repairs

If you're on a budget you can make a basic recovery machine from a second hand domestic fridge compressor, pick one rated for R134a.

    Torx T17???

I've got a TP15 on order, will see how that fits, also found a T17 on sale from a motorbike supplies place so may well be a thing on certain vehicles.

    Torx T17???

Thanks for the replies! Its a Fiat Doblo van, they are only tiny screws holding parts of the interior together. I'm not sure if they are torx plus, might just get a set as haven't got any!

    Torx T17???

Is torx T17 a thing? Doing some work on the car, T15 bit too small though just about works, T20 too big to fit.

    Routing mini split line-set

First thing I'd check is the maximum line length permitted, then the maximum line lift permitted, then if there is maximum total line length and finally a maximum difference between the two indoor coils line lengths. If you are within those limits I'd probably go low unless the attic route is...

    Nylog or Not

Back before Nylog existed, a little refrigeration compressor oil did the job. Wouldn't put any oil on the flare face unless you have something compatible, but a little oil or grease on the back of the flare where the nut touches can help stop the pipe twisting.

Black & Decker Professional Power Tools

Had a B&D SDS drill at work when I started back in the mid 90's, thing ran like a champ. B&D then became branded as Elu here, still grey but the buttons etc were a light blue, quality seemed to drop off a cliff when they then became Dewalt, had three faulty tools from new and so switched to Makita.
