$50 Craftsman 4 drawer rollaway deal

So my wife is turning into a coupon nazi, and stumbled on this deal on one of her websites. I have no room for another work chest, but maybe some of you might want to jump on it. Craftsman 4 drawer rolling chest (in red), for $50. Yes, they are new, but I imagine it's a clearance type of thing...

And the race is on / GM and new Police car

That's funny...."here's a gun and the ability to take someone's freedom, but you aren't allowed to drive that car, only this one..." Our new guys aren't eligible for a brand new car until they make 2 years without wrecking the car they get (we have individually issued cars here). So I guess...

And the race is on / GM and new Police car

In all fairness, I haven't been in an outfitted Charger, so I have no basis for comparison. The local troopers seem to like them, but they do a lot more "racing" than we do. Very few Impalas return to service, even after minor to moderate crashes. The Crown Vics and old Caprices were able to...

And the race is on / GM and new Police car

Anything would better than the currently disposable Impala in the long run. Going back to RWD and some guts would be a nice change too.

Heading out to 'Home Makeover' to volunteer...

So I'm curious, is there any truth to the stories that they not only repair / replace the target family's home, but that they do more minor projects (like roofs, landscaping, minor repair) on neighboring homes if the need is there but it just isn't televised? I've heard this from several...

EZ off truck topper and storage device

sstruckguy, thanks. It's a great truck. Auzivision, thanks for the HF info. Wish I had thought to check there first, that's a heck of a cost break. $55 for the winch is a good deal too. I have to go plan a more refined lift now.

EZ off truck topper and storage device

like this? I need to update this system to pulleys....the straps work, but it's slow going. Oh, and sorry about the big pics, can't resize them from my work computer for some reason.

    My New Garage Build

Very nice. Thanks for the updates, yours is one of my favorite builds. I can't quite tell from the first pic on your update--how did the carport in the back turn out?

EZ off truck topper and storage device

Lowe's has them in the garage organization section...where the wire shelves, tool hooks, etc. are. They are bike hoists. When I bought mine last year it was $20, so $40 for this set-up. Auzivision, if I am seeing the pictures right, it looks like the end of the rope that you pull is not...

Anyone seen garage door that goes straight up into attic?

makes sense then......keep us updated on what you come up with.

    Work bench depth?

I have built mine in the past at 36". The depth was useful to me because I used the rear portion to put bolt bins and small tool chests (drawer type) which had my most often used hand tools in them. That left me with about a 24-30" deep work space. Yes, things tend to gather at the back of a...

Anyone seen garage door that goes straight up into attic?

I'm sure you have considered this, but sometimes we overlook the simple things. If you're planning regular trusses (I assume you are since you mention attic space), and the door is not on the gable end, I can't see how it would work since the bottom of the truss will occupy the space the door...

The "honey I think you overdid it" garage

well now the other post about putting that stove in the garage makes more sense. Very nice, keep em coming.

    question about fencing

thank you all....I think I will use the horizontal and diagonal bracing based on the advice from here and the other board. I appreciate y'all taking the time to share your experience. As far as the goats, they're pretty short and the 47 in fence seems to defeat them (for now) in other areas...

    Another score for the garage

nice grab. you must have some killer work parties if you're putting that in the garage. If my wife saw that for $300, I'd be spending a fortune to remodel the kitchen.
