The majority of my metric sockets and wrenches. The other day I needed a deep 10 mm 1/4 drive socket, went to look for mine, and then realized I didn’t have one because I never needed one before.
I can get sp air air tools from the g2s catalog here in Edmonton. Both my mac dealer and snap on dealer are distributors, but I generally get the best deal through my mac dealer. I’m sure there are non-truck dealers that sell g2s stuff in the area. You didn’t specify where in Canada you are but...
I recommend a traditional style ridgid. The quick jaw ones can be handy but they have a more limited jaw capacity. The swedish style are generally more expensive and I’m not sure if they have a ratcheting action, plus it doesn’t look as easy to put a snipe on it if you need to. I would not cheap...
I believe they are mostly used by diesel technicians these days. I’ve worked on industrial stuff where they could have made the work easier but weren’t entirely necessary. If I could spare the space on the service truck I might have picked up a couple.
You can actually get air hammer style bits for SDS rotary hammers, for now though I would rather use an actual air hammer, or just a good old plain jane hand powered hammer.
Eventually though I think they will probably be able get more power out of rotary hammer.
At work I mostly use Walter or Weiler brushes that are rated for up to 25,000 rpm, however I have only ever seem them sold by industrial supply stores like Acklands-Grainger.
They are a mid grade taiwanese brand, mostly sold in bulk to industrial companies, along the lines of westward, procore, and jet. Their wrenches aren’t actually the same as gearwrench, at least not any more, but pretty much the same in quality.
Now you need the 18v line
- high torque nut smacker
- cordles angle grinder
- sawzall, the hackzall is really good for its size but when you have rip apart metal, wood, plastic, anything en masse, you need the big boy
And a box of inkzall markers to top it off
The USA made protos go up 1-1/4, they’re the I-beam with spline box end ones and only come in chrome.
The Taiwan import ones also have an 1-1/2 size, they just have normal shanks and the chrome ones are 12 point and the black oxide are spline.
