Need these for high speed tools similar to dremel or the flexible shaft on high speed tools. I have the hf mini grinder with the flex shaft. I bought the brush set from hf and the grinder came with a few accessories. Well, they are useless. They all basically self district within minutes. Can't find anything local so any help on this would be appreciated. Just don't feel like experimenting with all sorts of different offerings. Thanks,

Those dinky little stones on 1/8" arbor don't last very long in general.

I don't know what you're cutting, but for heavy removal you're better off with carbide burrs, they're more aggressive.

I do light work. Burrs would be waaay to aggressive. I have other tools for bigger work. But wire wheels that come apart within minutes is really bad. Thanks,

Get rid of the HF and get a Dremel. Sometimes you will need to slow down the RPM for the wire wheels.

Cheap little wire brushes do not last long and at high speed, tend to throw bristles. I assume you have variable speed. Run your brushes at a slower speed.

At work I mostly use Walter or Weiler brushes that are rated for up to 25,000 rpm, however I have only ever seem them sold by industrial supply stores like Acklands-Grainger.

Over numerous years I've repeatedly tried HF and other cheap wire brushes for my foredom and dremel, and they all fall apart almost immediately .

Dremel wire wheels have a decent lifespan, but the cost adds up quickly if you have lots of fine work to do.

I ran across this eBay listing a couple months ago while looking for a replacement wire wheel for my bench grinder. I bought a lot of 100.

I received ~ 105 brushes. They are terrific. A minor issue is they are supplied with a mix of 2 different arbor sizes. I'm thinking of buying another lot so I'll have plenty for the foreseeable future.

Just a comment. I rarely use that stuff. My guy used a Dremil the other day to grind a slot in a piece I should have done earlier and could have done with full size tools. I like as big as I can use.

What you need is a variable speed Dremel (or similar type tool) for those 1/8 shank wire wheels. I use those all the time with my Dremel and turn the speed way way down.

I cut off the straps holding my gas tank on my car with my Dremel and some abrasive cut-off wheels. There was no other way for me to do it with the tools at my disposal. And it worked great! My Dremel has gotten the job done more times than I can count over the years, from fixing my car, hobby part fabrication, to grinding various pieces and minor surgery on my own hand. It's an incredibly versatile tool.

I have a dremel 4000. Yes I use their brushes but they are at times to small. I need the hf sizes. I did run them lower than the grinder speed of 10,000 rpm and still picking wire out of my shop bib. And yes, I use a face shield for any work I do involving machines. I use them for rust mostly but the objects are to small to use on a big grinder wire wheel. Will check further. Thanks for your help !
