Thanks Craig, my main restriction is that anything over 1000 sq ft requires stormwater plans and some other zoning requirements. This will be a combo shop for cars and working on a semi and alternating 40' bus.

Thanks, it's given me the inspiration I needed to think outside of the "design" box and make something custom to fit my needs.

Craig, did you have official plans for this? I like the approach, sans I would probably do wood siding on the outside, but I like the structural approach and finish.

I have 3 GS lifts - 2 4 posters and the 7k scissor. Happy with them all.

I had the HF bottom box but returned it. Read the fine print and you'll see the drawers can't handle much weight. Additionally the cheap rubber drawer latches made it initially impossible to open the drawers - so much so that I had to remove them defeating the purpose...too much hassle to save...

I have a full rise Greg smith scissor lift, I couldn't imagine having to build it for the ground up. Best money ever spent.

Did you look at the GS scissor unit? I plan on buying one in a few weeks.

Good point - I will try some paint stripper on a sample area and see if it comes up. If it is paint at this point it will most likely get race decked of sorts or repainted. I'm not really in the mood to tear everything up and start from scratch just to do epoxy.

Well that *****...and changes things. Now I really need to reevaluate what I'm going to do. At this point just repainting might be the simplest option.

I like the racedeck look, but I've got about 900sq ft to do and the cost is a bit prohibitive for me to justify compared to refinishing with epoxy. The self draining tiles are neat, but that would just mean I'd have to find a way to clean under them from time to time.

Yeah the original floor covering is in good shape adhesion wise, just very worn. Scotty, it actually may be a painted floor and not epoxy; I presumed epoxy at first...if it has good adhesion overall, does this effect being able to put epoxy over it?

OK. I think I'll look at renting a floor sander for this and figure out what colors I want to use; do you have any samples you can send?

Yeah that was my overall fear, getting the prep right so I don't piss away $$$ of coating. I was initially thinking of a drywall sander on a pole with rough paper to scuff it, but can rent a machine to do the job if necessary, I just want it to last. Scotty, what is the difference with the...
