I was recently using rivet nuts (rivnuts) for the first time, after hearing about them for years...debating between the steel or alum. Then after I got done I got to thinking which one is stronger...or what can they hold.
So I jump on the ole YT and hey there's a vid showing the aluminum. So...
Depends on who you ask. Many say never weld a tank the heat changes the steel and makes it weaker. Many others weld on em and they work for many years no issues. But if ya can weld...technically it's as easy as drilling a hole and weld the bung in place.
Back story I bought a used IR compressor a few years ago. For a couple months it's made a bit of a hiss when running. Finally checked it...head gasket. Try to find parts...not real easy averaging $50 for the head gasket then all the other gaskets needed, it's old...ugh. So after a lot of...
For many of these small units...the worst hindrance is the regulators and lack of airflow. Take the pressure switch off and drill out the inner part. Many have 1/8" holes. Tools will run fine on 100-140psi so straight off the tank is no issue and preferred. I bought on sale and 11% off at...
Mine seemed to be a 3/4 NPT, so anything you can adapt to will work. I used a 3/4" water heater hose copper flexible line, removed rubber washer and with some pipe dope seemed to seal right up no problem. There's a 3/4 FIP to 1/2 OD flare you can buy and use. Then it's regular 1/2" copper.
Yep I know a small electrical contractor that averages $500-$600 for a service...I always tell customers you WON'T find anyone cheaper or a nicer contractor that KNOWS what he's doing.
Just keep the Tstat on it's lowest setting which is probably 40-45, or there's ultra low Tstats available. It doesn't take much to maintain those temps in a properly insulated building.
I have a couple of updated pics. I found a Craigslist Ad for some kitchen cabinets being removed. So I checked them out and hauled them away for $100. Not a bad deal I figured. I cleaned them up and painted them a color match the way I wanted which took way to long...but for the price... I...
