I made this vise tripod a few years ago. Had some old disc brakes and steel tubing lying around. I found that bench mounted vises were limited in their use. This gives better accessibility and placement where you need it when you need it The added wheels wheels give it easy mobility.
That's cool.
I did a mod to my old mechanics stool. Cushion was uncomfortable so I added an inexpensive boat seat to the frame and voila a nice comfy roller.
Refitted the HHR with a new Magnaflow cat back.
1. Flexpipe bellows needed to be replaced. (less expensive than a new CAT :D)
2. Install was at home in less than 45 min. (only had to cut the OEM pipe before the rear axle)
3. Nice new VROOM........:3gears: VROOM VROOM VROOM
As MaxJax owners are aware the standard transmission jacks are too tall (lift range 51" to 61") to fit under the MaxJax lift (max 48" lift height).
So, I modified my Princess Auto transmission lift by cutting out 10 inches of the base tube and welding it back together.
transmission jack
That...
I tried everything but now I use these.
One for SAE and one for Metric.
If you have some extra rails you can mix and match the holders as required.

I don't plan on heating permanently.
I have a Mr. Heater propane heater (12000BTU's good for 500 sq.ft.) if I need it in the winter. It heats quickly and is comfy.
I will install air conditioning because it is too hot in the garage in the summer months.
Yes a 1992 e36 not an M3 (I want one though). Also I had a 1991 e30 for my daily driver but she was on the way out after 3 years, replaced it with a 2009 HHR in 2009. Good eye my friend.
