I started this project a few years ago when I installed my Maxjax low ceiling lift. I was tired of crawling under cars because it was just too hard on the body. Now changing brakes, tires, clutches and other under chassis work is less hard due to the accessibility.

Here's what I statrted with:

After the Maxjax install:

Then the slabjacking (by Purlift.com) because the garage slab was listing 3-4 inches in the rear and the paneling was going to be a problem because nothing was straight.. Do it right the first time.

Then sheet and paint the walls:

Now for the ceiling. First, I wanted to hip a section so I could lift my Chevy HHR. Add some recessed lighting. Then insulate and use metal ceiling to give a nice clean look:

I'll update as the project continues.

I spy an e36 M3! You have owned an E30 in your past as well. Can't wait to see the finished garage.

Yes a 1992 e36 not an M3 (I want one though). Also I had a 1991 e30 for my daily driver but she was on the way out after 3 years, replaced it with a 2009 HHR in 2009. Good eye my friend.

Nice work you guys up North sure are serious about insulation. What type of heat will you be using?

I don't plan on heating permanently.

I have a Mr. Heater propane heater (12000BTU's good for 500 sq.ft.) if I need it in the winter. It heats quickly and is comfy.

I will install air conditioning because it is too hot in the garage in the summer months.

That hipped roof - and the steel cieling are pretty smart!

That Maxjax will make you spoiled - and you will never want to crawl under a car again!
