Take a wrench.. Put the box end on the nut.. Nail the wrench with a 4lb hammer.. You've got your two nuts off and saved some money ;) little kroil might be the ticket as well ;) must sound like a millwright or something ;) lol

I use a broken pair of tweezers (one half) with the poking end bent about 1/2" from the end in kind of an obtuse L shape (100 degrees?) keeps your hand out of the way and is stable holding it in there :) best of all it was free lol

Sadly I couldn't find a new gear for my dad's 44985 .. He'd got a little wild with it at some point and broke some teeth.. Still works but.. Beware! Lol..
