Lets make an all vintage Snap-on tool picture thread!

Really?.... That I knew that much was implied in the question, follow up post and numerous other posts I've made referencing tools that would be found in the Industrial catalogs. Apparently there is a pre 37 shortage of publicly available information about the earliest Industrial Snap On lines.

Similar logo to some random 1929 sockets loitering in my garage.

P370? Looks like a 1 3/16” 5/8” drive. So I’m not going thru every catalog but can someone direct me to a reference? Thinking 1 3/16 is a 380. Was there a different numbering system at one point or?

    The vintage Blackhawk Thread

Today’s flea set me back $2.00. T-12136 Needle Valve Adjusting Wrench (socket). From a 1939 Stromberg manual online. I think misidentified as a 29.

Thanks. Theoretically there would have been tens of thousands of tool kits shipped pre 1945. I remember making a post years ago on the Plomb thread showing how it looked like Bonney ( with their convenient date codes) initially filled their contract with what they had on hand and then went to...

Lets make an all vintage Snap-on tool picture thread!

So the seller sent some more pics ( not great) but now it does resemble an upside down "G" which surprised me cause that initial shot of the symbol seemed to have too sharp of angles to get to a "G".....anyway, there's still a question of why only G's (so far) then? Where are the 2's, 3's and...

    Special Speeder IDs

yeah, early valve lapping tools. Lots of the early catalogs used the word grinder for the manual tools like this so....

Alright, what’s going on here with the date code? I asked the guy for a better pic and maybe flick the switch back to the “on” side and take another pic as well. Obviously the Merlin toolkit would be limited to a pretty tight year range. Now that I think about it has anyone seen an AT 8022 that...

Vintage Blue Point, Blue Points Chicago and Blue-Point tools thread

So I kinda forgot about this but here’s a 3/4” single offset box Blue Point with the same forge?/ foundry mark indicating size. 1935 date code would line up with Pre war NAF number and possible Par-V time frame.

Plomb tool picture thread - show your stuff!

Local Flea, picked up the Plomb waved it at the guy, he said “1 dollar” and it was on. Kind of interesting as it appears to have a RCAF Royal Canadian Air Force marking on shaft. The WW2 RCAF Station flying training school Windsor is across the river from Detroit…about 30 miles from here. They...

    Model T tools

Wait,....what are we using for a reference saying that wrench is a Bonney? the "B" in a vertical oval? I know Bonney made wrenches for Fords and they made Z tools and they made CV wrenches that look like spark plug head bolt 5/8 X 15/16 wrenches like their 2525 with the Bonney Shield logo but.....

    The strong arm of tools

Couple more…So I guess the 721 is a “special” because both ends are 5/16 instead of 5/16 x 3/8? …the tool #245 on the other one is something I’m unfamiliar with.

    Walden Worcester Ford socket

LOL. 63-Z ….while 8-Z and 12-Z tools are not Ford tools I haven’t ruled this out as the pinned socket with the coded steel composition is similar to HFTS and other shop made Z tools.

    Walden Worcester Ford socket

Right?! we know 19-Z sockets definitely were used on fixed socket ratchets.
