    I.b.e.w.

This is my fathers account. I am an IBEW apprentice. The training is great... plus free, what more could you ask for if you want a good trade and education? I've been in the program for four years, 1 year as a helper, and 3 as an apprentice. I've worked steady up untill last week. I also have...

    I.b.e.w.

I.B.E.W. Has started a small works program and works under a dif. contract Small works and inside wireman’s contracts. That said, the inside guys can cross over to small works but small works are not suppose to cross over to the inside side. So if I were going to get in the program I would go...

Cable and telephone in the same conduit?

I would use the CAT 5 or CAT 6, CAT 5 is cheaper and will be fine for your application. 5 or 6 is good to 300’. They come in 1000’ rolls (box) so pull a spare.

How do I get rid of 3rd garage light switch?

Best idea. But some things just get on your last Q;^/ So if it is a 4way it's an easy fix. Turn off the power, Test. Power off?? Then remove the switch there will be 4 wires 2 on each side of the switch, (if there are 3 its a 3way and a lil more involved) A 4 way just breaks the travelers, so...

    Steel Building Electrical Plan

Aceman; I do understand your reasoning for a down sized neut. However I don’t understand the reason to do it? The cost difference isn’t that much and I would have my protection for P.C, instruments if I ever use them. It is a common practice to down size with 220V loads and you would be fine...

How much force is too much when pulling wire through conduit?

(A $200 router will solve your issue. Easy to go over 70'. Good luck.) Sounds quick and easy Q;^) 360º is the rule of thumb in field. I would get some dish soap mixed with water in a gal jug, dump it in the non pulling end. This will cover your wire and travel with it on the pull out. (Make...

    be careful guys

Mrb: If your system is an old one, or a new one with short-cuts the probable cause for your shock was the neutral. I’m an old electrician so I have seen both. In a single phase- 2 120V feeds or a 3 phase 3 120V feeds the newt. can be shared. In turn if you shut the circuit off your working on...

Accoustical tile vs. Drywall for a ceiling

Why not install the grid system and cut drywall pans. best of both worlds? "Lighting" the clean look of lay-in's. Removable panels. Paint them what ever color you like.

    Wiring for 220v

Ok I have looked at a few specs for your welder its saying: Input Power •230 V, 25 A, 60 Hz, 1-Phase So I would use a 40Amp 2 pole breaker with #8 wire should cover any load ramp and still covers the welder.

    Wiring for 220v

It's all about calculated load. If you are going to buy a new welder you will need to know the Amp's this will in turn tell you if the 30A circuit on your drier will work, you can load a circuit to 80 percent. This also comes into play with a sub-panel and space savers (tandems). For instance if...
