    Well it's happening...my 48x60 build

Very nice looking building so far! I always liked the idea of finishing off the inside with tin.

    Fixture Table?

The dimensions of the table are 2'x5' I don't believe the base to be home built just by the looks of it and the precise fit to the top. According to the seller the table came from a local manufacturing company and he had the table for approximately 40 years. Thank you for fixing my pictures.

    Fixture Table?

Well I have been in search of a welding table or the materials to build my own. I got a phone call this morning from an older gentleman who said he had a welding table he would sell but had no way to send me any pictures. I took my chances and made the 30 mile trip and came home with...

    Wilton 846 Vise

I didn't pay much at all for that vise. I was a welder for almost 10 years but only had minimal experience welding cast iron. I did do some using nickel rod as well as some brazing. The vise is currently my only one but that can and likely will change. I have had some Parker vises in the past...

    Wilton 846 Vise

I picked this Wilton 846 up and it is in need of a new set of jaws. The jaws are 5" I have searched and cannot seem to find any place where I can buy replacement jaws with screws. Any help is appreciated.

    The VISES of Garage Journal

Ok thank you for the suggestions. Now this method will actually result in "shiny" metal?

    The VISES of Garage Journal

Here are a couple shots of my Parker 5x all tore down. Like I said before I don't want to do a full blown refurb on this yet. I just want to get it good and functional because I plan on using it. What do you guys suggest I use to shine up the moving parts so it will work better? Wire wheel or...

    The VISES of Garage Journal

I would love to be able to reuse the pin but it is badly bent. Sorry I did forget to mention its the pin that holds the nut in.

    The VISES of Garage Journal

The pin I drove out of the bottom of my Parker vise I believe to be 9/32"? Where do I find one? Thank you.

    The VISES of Garage Journal

Ok guys, I got my Parker 5x all tore apart. I don't think I am going to do a full blown refurb on it yet. I just want to clean it up really good and lube it so it works nice as I plan on using it. 2 questions...can I soak the vise down with degreaser and power wash it? Don't know if water will...

bagged89s10 sent me this ad. Lists the No.5x at 150 lbs. with 6-1/4" jaws

    The VISES of Garage Journal

Ok thanks for the bolt information. As far as the set screw, spring and ball bearing I will just have to match something up I suppose. The ball bearing would be the first against the handle or the spring? Yep that is 6-1/4" jaws and 150 pounder.

    The VISES of Garage Journal

Here are a few pictures of my previously mentioned Parker 5x vise. Could anyone tell me which of the 2 bolts in the picture is the correct one? It came with the square head and flat head bolt and would like to get one more of the correct one. Also should their be a bolt or something that would...
