Follow up question - would it hurt if I just cut into the foam insulation enough to drill a hole through top plate so I could just drop the romex? I could always spray a little stuff over it.

I would myself but can’t get to top plate because of hard foam insulation. That’s why I asked about hole in ceiling for the emt or pvc. If I wall mounted should come up next to the plate in attic.
